1. Introduction

ParseGenie ("we," "us," or "our") operates the parsegenie.com website and the ParseGenie invoice reconciliation platform (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

This policy applies to all users of the Service, including those accessing it through anonymous sessions, free trials, or paid subscriptions. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your first and last name. If you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your Google profile information including your name, email, and profile avatar.

Business Profile

During onboarding, we collect information about your business to customize your experience, including:

  • Business type (e.g., ecommerce, wholesale, fulfillment)
  • Label source and billing path preferences
  • Primary carrier (UPS, FedEx, USPS, or multiple)
  • Monthly shipment volume

Uploaded Files and Documents

To provide the reconciliation service, we store the files you upload:

  • Invoice files (CSV, up to 10 MB per file)
  • Shipment or billing statement files (CSV, up to 10 MB per file)

We also store the structured data extracted from these files, such as supplier names, invoice numbers, line item details, SKUs, quantities, and pricing.

Shopify Integration Data

If you connect your Shopify store, we store your store domain, an OAuth access token, and read-only access to your order and fulfillment data (including tracking numbers, shipping addresses, and order statuses) for reconciliation purposes.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers or full payment credentials. We retain your Stripe customer ID, subscription plan details, billing period information, and usage data (line items and batches processed per period).

Contact Form Submissions

When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject selection, and message content. This information is sent to our support team via email.

Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect certain information through cookies and standard web server logs, including session identifiers and onboarding status. See Section 8 for details on cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the reconciliation service
  • Match your invoice data against Shopify fulfillment data
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send transactional emails, such as account verification and password resets
  • Respond to your contact form inquiries and support requests
  • Improve and optimize the Service

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party service providers to operate the Service:

  • Supabase (Supabase Inc.) — Database hosting, authentication, and file storage.
  • Stripe (Stripe Inc.) — Payment processing and subscription billing management.
  • Cloudflare (Cloudflare Inc.) — Website hosting, content delivery, and security.
  • Resend (Resend Inc.) — Transactional and support email delivery.
  • Shopify (Shopify Inc.) — Order and fulfillment data integration, when connected by you.

These providers process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Anonymous Users

You can try the Service without creating an account. Anonymous sessions use a temporary session token stored in a cookie that expires after 24 hours. If you create an account within that window, your anonymous session data (including any uploaded batches) can be claimed and linked to your new account.

6. Data Retention

  • Active account data is retained for as long as your account remains active.
  • Deleted data is subject to a 90-day soft delete period before permanent removal.
  • Anonymous session data expires after 24 hours.
  • You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@parsegenie.com.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption for data in transit and row-level security policies for database access. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

  • Onboarding status — Tracks whether you have completed the onboarding process.
  • Authentication cookies — Maintained by Supabase to keep you signed in.
  • Anonymous session token — A temporary identifier for users who have not created an account (expires after 24 hours).

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
